PACCAR is largest manufacture of heavy trucks and is 3rd largest manufacturer in the world. It acquired Dutch based DAF Trucks Company in the year 1996. In United States truck classification is based on GVWR.GVWR stands for gross vehicles weight rating and the classification of classes ranges from 1-8. The classification is done under Vehicle Inventory and Use Survey (VIUS) and US DOT Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

The classification follows as class 1 & 2 fall under Light Duty, Class 3-5 fall under Medium Duty and Class 6-8 fall under Heavy Duty. To operate in USA Vehicles Class 7 and above require Commercial Driver’s License. The GVWR for class 7 ranges from 26,001 to 33,000 pounds (11,794 to 14,969kg). Commercial Driver’s License is required for vehicles ranging above 26,000 pounds. Class 7 vehicles include International Transtar. It is also Known as International 8000 Series comes in two different configurations which in turn differs in Drivetrain, Engines and Axle Configuration.
